Former McDonell star Kyle Cody did not disappoint in his first start with the Cavaliers, as he pitched 4 scoreless innings and struck out 8 Marshfield batters with a Phillies scout watching the action.
Cody, who was 5-0 with 0.89 era this past high school season is Kentucky recruit and was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 33rd round of the MLB draft.
As for the rest of the game, it remained scoreless till the bottom of the 9th, when Brett Vavra drove in the game winning run for the Cavaliers win.
The Cavs are next in action on Wednesday when they host the Menomonie Eagles at Carson Park at 7:00pm.
