Menomonie football team prepares to face unbeaten Hortonville

By  |

The Menomonie football team will face a tough challenge this Saturday in Level 2 of the WIAA Division 2 playoffs. The Mustangs will make the long trip to Hortonville to battle the unbeaten Polar Bears. Hortonville features one of the top running backs in the state in Alex Lasinski. After giving up only three points to Marshfield last week, the Menomonie defense will need a similar effort in Level 2.
Coach Joe La Buda talked about facing the Polar Bears, "You know our defense played really well last week, it was a tremendous battle, they came up with some big plays at the end when they had to. Marshfield was a very good football team but now we have to move on, we're played a tremendous football team, probably one the best backs we've seen in a long, long time. Probably back to Aaron Stecker, this is one the best backs we've ever faced. Last week offensively, we didn't make plays, we had opportunities but didn't make plays, we have to catch the football and we have to hang on to the football."
