North Dakota Tops Wisconsin 5-3

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) -- Stephane Pattyn scored the game-winning goal with 1:54 left to play as North Dakota beat Wisconsin 5-3 in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game on Friday.

Pattyn scored his first gpoal of the season from point blank for North Dakota (14-10-2, 10-9-0), which improved to 7-1-1 in its last nine home games against the Badgers (12-11-2, 7-10-2).

North Dakota's Brock Nelson scored an empty-net goal with 1 second left in the game. Nelson had two goals. Dillon Simpson, who also notched his first goal of the year, added an assist.

Michael Mersch had two goals for the Badgers, who were outshot 25-17. Wisconsin dropped to 1-7-1 on the road.

UND goal Aaron Dell had 14 saves. Wisconsin's Joel Rumpel had 20.
