Racing Weekly for Wednesday, October 24

This week on Racing Weekly, we take a look at Eau Claire native Paul Menard, who had his best finish of the year at Kansas this past Sunday.

With crew chief Slugger Labbe back from his suspension, for making illegal modifications to Menard's car at Michigan, Menard was able to get a great run at Kansas. He finished the race in the third position, his best finish since his win at the Brickyard last year in Indianapolis.

Menard gave a lot of the credit for Sunday's run to his returning crew chief.

"Slugger came back fresh off of a six-week vacation. He had a lot of ideas. Luckily we had two days to work through them," Menard said. "Kind of hit on something yesterday morning that we liked, thought was promising, stuck with it. Obviously running the Nationwide car on a new surface, we learned a lot about tire pressures, what grooves come in. The second groove came in a hell of a lot better than I think anybody thought. You could make lap time and pass cars.
Overall, just really happy with the weekend, the repave. The track came in real well and it's just going to keep getting better. Real proud of my Menards guys."
