Rice Lake Curling Team Wins United States Senior Championship
The Rice Lake curling club team comprised of Larry Sharp, Bill Kind, Don Drost and Greg Dahl captured the United States Senior National Championship this past weekend.

The Rice Lake curling club team comprised of Larry Sharp, Bill Kind, Don Drost and Greg Dahl captured the United States Senior National Championship in competition held jointly by the Wauwautosa and Kettle Moraine curling clubs Feb 16 – 19. The competition is open to curlers 55 years of age or older.
The foursome does not curl together as a team at Rice Lake because they each have their own team. However they joined forces to compete in the national event.
The team went undefeated in the competition which featured 30 teams from Arizona; Illinois; Michigan; Minnesota; Nebraska; Ohio and Wisconsin.
It is the fourth national senior championship for the Rice Lake team having previously succeeded in 2005; 2007 and 2009. No other team has recorded four wins in the past 35 years the event has been held. Several teams that have achieved two national championships including teams from Madison, WI; North Dakota; St. Paul, MN; Two Harbors, MN; Kettle Moraine, WI; and Arlington, WI.
