Stanley-Boyd football team preps for 2012 season

The Stanley-Boyd football team is coming off a successful 2011 season which saw coach Jeff Koenig's squad advance to Level 3 of the Division 5 state playoffs. The Orioles have plenty of talent back at the skilled positions including quarterback Tyler Sorensen but need to grow up in a hurry in the trenches.
Coach Koenig says, "We do return a number of guys on the perimeter that got some valuable experience last year, we do return our quarterback which is always a great benefit to have. We have two perimeter guys on defense coming back as well as starting d-tackle and d-end so we got some experience coming back on the perimeter. Where we're thin is on offensive and defensive lines, a big weakness right now. I've always said that our team will go as far as our offensive line will take us. Everything looks pretty on the perimeter and when you run the ball it looks nice but it's those guys up front both offensively and defensively that determine the outcome of games. So it's really going to determine our season is how quickly our guys can get to the level you need to be at and how healthy we can stay."
