Northwoods League-- A walk-off single from Tyler Wampler brought home the winning run for the Eau Claire Express (10-21) in a 7-6 victory over the Wisconsin Woodchucks (16-15) in 10 innings at Carson Park on Saturday.
Wampler paced the Eau Claire Express at the plate. Wampler went 0-0 and scored one run. He singled in the tenth inning.
Tim Zier reached base five times in the game for the Eau Claire Express. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He singled in the first, third, and fourth innings.
The Wisconsin Woodchucks had no answer for Tony Vocca, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Wisconsin Woodchucks managed just one hit off of Vocca, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his 2 1/3 innings of work.
Max Ising was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
