Tough schedule helped prepare Regis for WIAA state championship game

By  |

Despite facing a St. Mary's Springs squad that has scored nearly 600 points this season, the Eau Claire Regis football team is confident that they can play with the defending Division 6 state champs. The unbeaten Ramblers have defeated several teams that qualified for the post-season this year, and coach Bryant Brenner believes those games have been beneficial in preparing his kids for a match-up with the high-powered Ledgers.
Brenner knows his Ramblers must be on top of their game if they hope to take down the champs. Bryant says,"All we know is that we played a tough schedule throughout the year. Started off with a non-conference game with Stratford, beat a good Stratford team, beat a good Colby team that advanced to Level 4, beat an undefeated Stanley-Boyd team, beat an 11-0 Edgar team, so we know we faced good competition, so I think we have it in the back of our minds that we can beat good teams. Springs is probably a step up from anybody we've played this year so we know that we have to bring our best game."
