UW-Eau Claire men's hockey team tops Stevens Point 5-2 to remain unbeaten

The UW-Eau Claire men's hockey team improved to 10-0-1 overall with a 5-2 victory over UW-Stevens Point Friday night at Hobbs Ice Center. The Blugolds trailed briefly in the first period, but came back to tie the game on a powerplay goal from Daniel Olszewski. UWEC then scored three straight goals in the second period, Kurt Weston tallied the first two goals, while Isaiah Bennis gave the Blugolds a 4-1 lead on a powerplay goal. The Pointers closed the gap to 4-2 entering the third period, but the Blugolds put it away with an empty net goal from David Donnellan as UW-Eau Claire won 5-2. With the victory the Blugolds are now 6-0-1 in the NCHA.
