MENOMONIE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The votes have been cast and counted. UW-Stout has announced the name of its new Blue Devil mascot.

'Blaze' will represent the university's first official mascot.

Blaze was announced as the new mascot's name between Saturday's women's and men's basketball games.

UW-Stout began a public naming contest last month, narrowing the names to Beau, Blaze, Harvey and Scorch.

As the chosen winner, Blaze will now represent the Blue Devils.
