Youth is a prevailing theme in Vikings camp

In Colfax, the Vikings are coming off a 3-6 season in 2011 including a 1-5 mark in the Dunn-St. Croix.

Coach Mark Maloney says his team will be young in 2012 with only a handful of seniors returning. The Vikings' coach says his team needs to bond in a hurry.

"We only got 6 seniors on the team so obviously our younger kids have to step up," Maloney says. "So some of the positives are that we have some experience and that we're young but the negative of that is that we're still inexperienced and we're still young."

"(We're) feeling pretty good, everybody worked hard this summer and I think we can improve a lot from last year," adds Quarterback Dillon Lloyd. "We got some good younger classmen. We all lifted hard this summer, getting stronger, faster, working hard."
