Updated: 05/10/2016 - Rain didn't put a stop to the local sports scene and SportScene 13 was there weathering the elements along with area athletes, gathering highlights from nine games in all for your viewing pleasure! On the diamond, Eau Claire North welcomed Rice Lake to Carson Park in Big Rivers play, while in the Western Cloverbelt, leaders Altoona squared off against Cadott and Eau Claire Regis took on Thorp. In the circle, Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire North finished their doubleheader from one week ago, Thorp traveled to Gelein Field to take on Eau Claire Regis and Altoona met Cadott. Also, the new top ranked team in Division 1 girls soccer, Eau Claire Memorial plays BRC rival Chippewa Falls and on the track, Memorial, North, Regis and Altoona compete in the Eau Claire Intracity meet. In the college ranks, the WIAC announced its season ending softball awards, with UW-Eau Claire well represented as head coach Leslie Huntington was named coach of the year and junior shortstop Evie Schaller named co-position player of the year.
