The UW-Eau Claire women's softball team remained in first place in the WIAC after the Blugolds swept a doubleheader in Platteville Sunday afternoon.
The Minnesota Twins raised their record to 9-and-10 with a 2-1 10-inning victory over Cleveland Sunday afternoon at the Metrodome.
The Milwaukee Brewers were poised to sweep the Cincinnati Reds Sunday afternoon taking a 3-1 lead to the bottom of the 10th inning, but Brewers closer Eric Gagne looking for his fourth save in as many days, allows three runs as the Reds avoid the sweep.
The Cardinal team defeated the White team, 28-3 Saturday in front of approximately 22,000 fans at Camp Randall Stadium in Wisconsin’s annual Spring Football Game. Running back Lance Smith, who played for both the Cardinal and White teams, rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown.
