Updated: 05/04/2009 - In prep baseball Monday, Eau Claire Memorial split a doubleheader with Chippewa Falls at Carson Park, the Old Abes took game one, 7-6, but the Cards won the nightcap 11-5. While in Menomonie, Eau Claire North swept the Indians, winning game one 10-0 in six innings, then scored four runs in the bottom of the 7th to beat Menomonie 5-4 in game two. North will play Memorial Thursday evening, May 7th at Carson Park, game time 6 pm.

Surprise! Blugolds Softball Team Gets NCAA Bid

Updated: 05/04/2009 - The UW-Eau Claire women's softball team will get a chance to defend their 2008 NCAA Division 3 national championship after all as the Blugolds were pleasantly surprised this morning to receive an at-large bid into the 2009 NCAA tournament. UWEC will play Coe College of Iowa in a first round game on Thursday, May 7th in Bloomington, Illinois.
