In baseball, Eau Claire North traveled to La Crosse for a double dip with Central and Aquinas took on Neillsville. The Warriors were busy, also hosting a softball triangular against Blair-Taylor and Chequamegon. And on the college diamond, the UW-La Crosse baseball team qualifies for its second straight Division III College World Series with a 5-3 victory over St. John's (MN) in the Midwest Regional Championship held at their home ballpark, Copeland Park in La Crosse. Highlights and reaction from the World Series bound Eagles. Finally, the Chippewa Valley Predators hosted the North Iowa Knights in a NEFL-MWFBA crossover game at Carson Park.

Also on the baseball diamond Eau Claire Regis faces Osseo-Fairchild and Immanuel duels with Whitehall. On the softball diamond, Chippewa Falls travels to Menomonie, Eau Claire North hosts Superior and Altoona takes on undefeated Thorp. SportScene 13 for Tuesday, May 10th, 2016

Updated: 05/10/2016 - Rain didn't put a stop to the local sports scene and SportScene 13 was there weathering the elements along with area athletes, gathering highlights from nine games in all for your viewing pleasure! On the diamond, Eau Claire North welcomed Rice Lake to Carson Park in Big Rivers play, while in the Western Cloverbelt, leaders Altoona squared off against Cadott and Eau Claire Regis took on Thorp. In the circle, Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire North finished their doubleheader from one week ago, Thorp traveled to Gelein Field to take on Eau Claire Regis and Altoona met Cadott. Also, the new top ranked team in Division 1 girls soccer, Eau Claire Memorial plays BRC rival Chippewa Falls and on the track, Memorial, North, Regis and Altoona compete in the Eau Claire Intracity meet. In the college ranks, the WIAC announced its season ending softball awards, with UW-Eau Claire well represented as head coach Leslie Huntington was named coach of the year and junior shortstop Evie Schaller named co-position player of the year.

Updated: 05/09/2016 - SportScene 13 for Monday, May 9th, 2016 includes a trifecta of prep baseball highlights from the Dunn St. Croix (Durand vs. Elk Mound), Dairyland (Eleva-Strum vs. Eau Claire Immanuel) and Western Cloverbelt (Stanley-Boyd vs. Altoona) as well as a couple softball games pitting Rice Lake vs. Menomonie and Eleva-Strum vs. Eau Claire Immanuel. We also hit the links for an 18-hole Cloverbelt boys golf meet at the Eau Claire Country Club and visit the pitch as Eau Claire North hosted Menomonie in girls soccer. Also, Eau Claire Memorial senior Ally Bushendorf signs her National Letter of Intent to play both volleyball and softball at St. Cloud Community and Technical College.

We also have a pair of prep softball games highlighted as Eau Claire Memorial hosted Holmen and Altoona welcomed Ellsworth to Cinder City Park. Elsewhere, girls soccer was on full display this weekend at the UW-Eau Claire Spring Classic. Featured games include Sheboygan North vs. Eau Claire Memorial, Kimberly vs. Eau Claire North and Rhinelander vs. River Falls.

Updated: 05/06/2016 - SportScene 13 for Thursday, May 5th, 2016 is full of thrilling prep baseball finishes as Eau Claire Memorial and Chippewa Falls went to the wire at Carson Park, Eau Claire Regis took Altoona to extra innings, while Elk Mound and Boyceville got matched up in a pitchers duel. In prep softball, Chippewa Falls' BRC winning streak came to an end at 83 games and Eau Claire Memorial swept Menomonie in a doubleheader at Gelein Field.
