CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. -- The Division 4 championship game was an exciting, back-and-forth effort between the two teams, but in extra innings, Lake Country Lutheran took the lead and held on for the 11 to 7 victory.
Head coach Eric Wedemeyer says, "I think the two best teams in the division were in this game. It's tough to lose, especially in a game like that, but somebody has to. It just wasn't meant to be for us." Senior Aaron Milkert adds, "I mean I was confident that we'd get the runs back when they got them. It was just cat and mouse you know, they got some we got some."
The Mighty Macks may not have came away with the gold ball, but they can surely hang their hat on a successful year.
Senior Sam Sorensen says, "You know, we had an overall good season. Taking second, you can't take anything away from us for that. It was a fun season, and hopefully one year in the future they can win the gold ball for us." Adds Wedemeyer, "I'm so proud of our guys, obviously we came up short and didn't come out the way we wanted, but I think this is a game that a lot of people are going to be talking about for a long time."
