Tigers wide receiver Jordan Millis broke his leg midway through the 2011 season but you wouldn't know that by watching him play this fall. As one of the top receivers in the state, Millis says sitting on the sidelines motivated him to work harder and in turn it motivated his team as well.

"A lot of times it's easy to handle good things that happen to you but it's how you handle the adversity or when things don't go well for you," says Black River Fall football coach Jim Bible. "I think Jordy's (an) example of being injured and not being able to play in our last four games last year, and having to watch. And then the kids seeing him work hard to recuperate."

With over 1000 receiving yards, Millis demands the attention of the opposing teams defense, allowing for his teammates to also get in on the action.

"Jordan can do it all. Hes so dynamic and he just makes a big impact on the game," says BRF's quarterback, Ethan Young. "You know you can throw it where only he can catch it and he's going to go get it, even if a defender is on him."

"He's a force that the other team has to recognize," adds Jordan's cousin and BRF's running back, Ryan Millis. "I mean, they have to key in on him and it helps us out as an offense."

Millis is listed at 5'6, 155lbs but don't let his size fool you.

"Bigger people don't really scare me," says Jordan, adding "It's not the size of the dog in the fight it's the size of the fight in the dog."

Jordan's speed on the football field translates to the track. He's the school record holder in the 100meter dash as well as the long jump, but no matter where he has success, he wants the focus on his teammates.

"Well because he's a very humble person," says Bible. "And he gets more excited when other kids have success than when he has his own. "

"You're only as good as the players around you," Jordan says. "And whenever else around you is making plays it takes the pressure off me and makes it a lot easier to get things done out there."
