"He came to perform," comments Glenwood City's football coach Shane Strong about running back Isaac Tuttle, "He had a goal in mind and one thing we stress is don't let your teammates down and he didn't," Strong says.

Leading the team with 195 yards rushing, Isaac Tuttle excelled in Glenwood City's state championship victory last week.

"He plays with great heart and intensity.," says Strong. "He's not really a vocal, young man in practice or out on the field. He just plays with his pads, we say."

Isaac Tuttle's four touchdowns in the state championship are even more impressive when you find out he wasn't playing at 100 percent.

"After the state championship game, just went and got it checked out and he had been playing with a broken hand," Strong says.

Tuttle is only a junior this year, so along with most of his teammates, the Hilltoppers will be back next year looking for more.

"It puts a smile on my face knowing that I have some good athletes coming back but there are some good seniors that I'm going to miss," says Strong. "Our JV team was 7-0 so we got some young guys that will come up and fill those holes. But our number one focus will be enjoying this for a couple weeks and then we'll get after our off season preparation."

As the team enjoys the school's third state title, they share it with their supporters.

"Anytime you're in a small town community it just brings everybody together. I think we had 1000 people at our welcome home, here in the gym," says Strong. "And all the emails and letters and phone calls I received, you just know how much it means to the people in our community. It's something special."
