Chippewa Falls crushes their way to State Softball Semifinals

Evie Schaller had two home runs and a state tournament record 7 RBI as Chippewa Falls crushed Sussex-Hamilton 18-2 in the state softball quarterfinals.

The Cardinals actually trailed 1-0 after the first half inning, but then exploded for 10 runs in the bottom of the first, highlighted by a grand slam home run by Evie Schaller. She would add another home run in the 4th to bring her RBI total to 7, shattering the old single game RBI record of 4.

Every starter in the Cardinal lineup had a hit, and pitcher Amanda Jaquish gave up just two hits and two runs in a 5 inning victory.

Chippewa Falls will meet the winner of Appleton East-Westosha Central game in the semifinals Friday.
