Chippewa Falls softball state champions celebrate with parade

The Chippewa Falls softball team is celebrating the school's first team state championship this evening. The Cardinals rode a fire truck in a parade through downtown Chippewa Falls that ended up at the high school. Chi Hi beat Sun Prairie back on June 16 in the W-I-A-A division one state title game.

Cardinals head coach Jared Faherty says it's great to finally be the champs and they will remain focused on getting the title again next year. "You know there's certainly a little more of a target on your back now and things like that but at the same time we have to really approach things the same way we appraoched them all year. You know, take things a game at a time. And we need to work together every day to get better. Go out and compete and do the best job we can."
