Friday on our College Athlete Check-In, We catch up with the talented guard on those the 2011 championship Regis Ramblers girls basketball squad and current St.Thomas sophomore Katie Stone.
Stone has started all 8 games this year for the Tommies, averaging 8 points a game. Her experience playing at a high level at Regis has helped her excel at the next level.
"The tempo is a lot faster so you have to move your feet and passing is a lot quicker so you have to read the defense a lot quicker than you would in high school. I think the teammates that I had in high school just wanted us to be better and in college all your teammates are cheering you on and push you everyday in practice to be better."
As for her former Regis teammates, she still keeps tabs on them.
"I definitely keep in touch with my high school teammates, we text and we Skype and in the summer we get together and some of us play in the Gus Macker which is nice."
