The Eau Claire Memorial football team earned a trip into the playoffs by winning their final three games. The Old Abes, who will face Big Rivers champion Hudson in Friday night's Division 1 Level 1, lost to the Raiders back on September 27th but Memorial coach Paul Kling and his team believe they are much-improved since that loss.
Paul Kling says, "Some of our kids now are a lot more mature in terms of how they play and the level that they play at. I think that we were less physical than we are now, so there are some things we know that we changed. So we just need to implement those things on game night."
Tight End Tye McLaughlin agrees, "We learned that they're good on paper and that they're good in the game, so we basically need to overachieve them to win the game."
Adds quarterback Ben Everhart, "We're going into the game and we're confident. We know what they're gonna throw at us and we got some stuff that we're gonna throw at them and hopefully we can come out with the win."
