Eau Claire Memorial's Michael Kapla to play for Sioux Falls Muskateers

(WEAU)-Last year, Eau Claire Memorial's Michael Kapla was one of the leaders of the Old Abes squad that made the state hockey tournament for the last three years.

But, next season, Kapla will be suiting up for the Sioux Falls Muskateers of the United States Hockey League, one of the top junior hockey leagues in the nation.

On Monday, the Muskateers released their final roster after their five day tryout camp. Kapla was one of 9 defensemen to make the roster.
Losing Kapla for his senior season will be tough for the Old Abes, as last season Kapla had 7 goals and 40 assists for Eau Claire. The Muskateers begin play in September.

Good for him. It is great to see local hockey players do well. I am sure that Memorial will miss him though. Wish him well.
