2008 was the last time the Fall Creek football team qualified for the playoffs. This Friday they will face Cameron at home in a Division 5 Level 1 playoff game.
The Crickets went 5-3 in the regular season and a couple weeks ago pulled out an upset, 28-21 win over last year's state runner up Regis. First year head coach Josh Tumm is confident in the direction of his program but says the focus remains on this week's opponent, the Cameron Comets.
"Playoff field of 32 teams and they're all solid football teams. Cameron is not exception. They have a big, tough, physical line, a really good tough quarterback and some good skill positions as well. So, the way it looks to us is it needs to be a game that comes down to fundamentals," says head coach Josh Tumm.
"Well, it's a big thing in Fall Creek. You know, we haven't done it in a long time and it means a lot to the team and to the coaches to be here finally. And we'll just take it one more game at a time and see how it goes," says quarterback Josh Eastenson.
