Football Preview: Chippewa Falls

Last year the Chippewa Falls High School football team won three games, all part of a three game winning streak over River Falls, Rice Lake and Eau Claire North. This year the Cardinals are hoping that winning streak was a sign of things to come for them this season.

Chippewa Falls is looking for their first playoff birth since the 2010 season, and will face stiff competition week in and week out in the big rivers conference.Hall of fame coach Chuck Raykovich knows his execution will be key for his team to compete in their talented conference.

"We want to compete, we want to compete, compete with everybody in the league, we want to go into every game saying that we have a chance. I am not going to say we are going to be contenders, I am not going to say we are going to be the door mat, I am going to say we want to compete. I think this year our league is the best it's ever been. Basically everybody has a quarterback coming back, there is some darn good ones with a good supporting cast, it's the best I have ever seen."
