James Knutson Named Regis-McDonell Head Hockey Coach

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -- McDonell Central High School and Regis High School hired James Knutson to be the RMB Saints Hockey Coach.

Coach James Knutson grew up in Catholic schools, with many of his family members involved and passionate about Catholic education. Hockey was one of the many sports James grew up playing and began officiating Hockey in 2002 for his local youth hockey group. He has experience coaching Hockey and Football, and shared his general philosophy about coaching, "The best teams center around trust and mutual passion for the game. Additionally, our Catholic values teach us that we all need to be successful both on and off the ice. Developing kids of character is just as important as developing strong Hockey players."

Coach James Knutson also commented that he looks forward to meeting the Chippewa Valley Area hockey community. "When I'm not coaching, I will likely be officiating youth hockey or visiting Hobbs."

"Coach James Knutson represents what our Athletic teams look for when hiring Coaches. We want to hire a Coach that is going to offer a great Athletic experience, but more importantly the opportunity to develop the whole student - mind, body, and spirit," said Regis Athletic Director Terry Allen.

James Knutson has also been hired to teach Social Studies at Regis High School for the upcoming school year.
