Despite facing a first period two-nothing deficit, the Eau Claire Memorial boys hockey team stormed back to beat Chippewa Falls 8-4 to advance to the WIAA boys state hockey tournament for the third straight year. The Old Abes got a huge goal from junior defenseman Michael Kapla with 1.4 seconds left in the first period. Memorial then outscored Chi Hi 6-2 in the second period, including four goals in a two-minute span. Brady Burzynski had two goals including a powerplay tally late in the third period. Memorial is headed back to Madison for the third year in a row which is a program first under head coach Mike Schwengler.
