Memorial girls soccer team ready for state

The Eau Claire Memorial soccer team punched their ticket to the girls soccer state tournament with a 2-0 win over River Falls on Saturday.

The Old Abes are back at state for the first time in 4 years. Their previous two seasons had ended at the hands of River Falls.
Now that the team is heading to state, they expect to play the same great game that has kept them undefeated this season, and not be in awe of just being at state.

Kit Schiefelbein (Memorial Head Coach)
"This is a pretty skilled group, tactically smart group, pretty fit group, I think we will be fine when we get down there. Yes it is a eye opener. it's a big stage for us, but these kids have reacted quite well to big moments and I think we will do quite well down there."

Meg Van de Loo (Memorial Forward-JR.
"We have to keep playing how we have been playing, and I think we are ready. Probably just keep practicing, keep doing the same stuff in practice and not change too much."
