Regis and McDonell Girls Prepare for Sectional Finals

The Eau Claire Regis Ramblers were back at work Friday preparing for their sectional finals match up with Ladysmith.

The Ramblers survived another tough game against Colfax, winning 42-41...The Ramblers have been tested this postseason, but Head Coach Cody Rumpel says their senior leadership has stepped up when the team has needed it..

"I think it goes with their experience. A lot of these girls have been playing for 4 years at the varsity level, some 3. I think when it gets tough, their is a couple girls that really step up their game and do a good job of finishing for us"

Senior Haley Collins agrees "We work really hard in practice and we have had a couple of close games and they are really big eye openers for us, so we just need to keep working hard."

Chippewa Falls McDonell will play in it's first ever sectional final game Saturday against Seneca.
The Macks will face a tough test from a Seneca squad that is undefeated so far this season and has only lost once in the past two seasons.
But the Macks Head Coach Shannon Tazer says her players are ready for the challenge in front of them and hopefully earn a trip to Madison...

"Basketball at McDonell has kind of been in the shadows of the other sports, it was something that we presented as 'let's be the first team to do this, let's be the first team to do that'. They seem to be motivated by that and are a very determined group."

A group led by seniors like forward Sarah Schoch.

"We have been practicing hard, we are very excited that we got this far. We have been counting down he games one by one and just knowing we are this close to state makes us work even harder."
