"I've got more levels to reach in my running career. And (I thought) I'm just going to keep working this summer and it took me into this first week of cross country, in which I won by a pretty big margin which was pretty exciting," says Husky Invite winner, Ryan Kromer.

Starting the 2012 cross country season off with a win, lines up with one of Ryan Kromer's goals for the season, to go undefeated. The Hudson senior finished fourth at states last year but is settling for nothing less than first this year. Ryan is taking down school records and leading beyond racing.

"He's a strong leader, he's always making us run hard with him and he tries to take as many of us that will go with him," says junior teammate Don Clark.

"It really makes us try to stay with him as much as we can when we're doing runs, and hills and sprints and try to impress the coach and try to be that number one runner next year," adds fellow junior Jack Kadidlo.

Breaking records holds extra meaning for Ryan. His father held records here at Hudson High School before continuing his career at the University of Minnesota....Ryan is following in his footsteps.

"He enjoys watching me succeed and it's fun to compete with those times. And I look forward to even lowering them lower this spring,' Ryan says. "I'd like to stay in the Midwest, just because of the climate. Its a lot more favorable for runners. And Minnesota is definitely up there for one of my top choices

With a personal best mile time of 4:14 and a GPA Of 4.0, Ryan is the total student athlete.
