Updated: 10:52 PM In prep sports action on Thursday night, the Eau Claire Memorial boys hockey team took over sole possession of first place in the Big Rivers conference with a 6-2 win over Rice Lake, while in girls hockey, the ECA Stars blanked Chi Hi/Menomonie 3-0. In girls basketball, Eau Claire Regis stayed perfect in conference play with a 55-29 win over Osseo-Fairchild, while at the Doghouse, Eau Claire North fell to Superior 67-55.

In boys basketball, Chippewa Falls McDonell stayed perfect on the year, beating Altoona 52-35. On the ice, the Regis-McDonell-Bloomer co-op team lost for just the second time this season, falling to the Barron co-op team, 4-3.
