Posted: 03/20/2016 - The McDonell Central boys basketball team capped off a season to remember Saturday by winning the school's first ever state championship in a 63-41 victory over Burlington Catholic Central in the Division 5 title game. Escorted by local law enforcement, the Macks returned home in style Sunday as the school's signature bus rolled up on campus to the sight of hundreds of adoring fans, who couldn't wait to cheer on their newly crowned champions.

On the ice, Eau Claire Memorial's run for a 3rd State Title ended at the hands of Appleton United in the semifinals, 4-1. However, Hudson won by that same 4-1 score line over Waukesha North to advance to Saturday's championship game. At girls state, Hayward and the University School will meet up in the championship after the Hurricanes won 6-1. In boys basketball, we have highlights from 10 games, including Eau Claire Memorial's double overtime winner over D.C. Everest and River Falls' dramatic win after Menomonie's last second heave bounced off the rim! Also included are highlights from Hudson's teams state quarterfinal dual against Kaukauna.
