Updated: 06/03/2009 - DIvision 2's No. 1 ranked baseball team saw it's undefeated season come to an end Wednesday night, as Altoona fell to No. 6 Bloomer, 8-4, in a WIAA regional final.. The Blackhawks move on to face Nekoosa in the sectional semifinals on Tuesday. In Division 3, both Elk Mound and Osseo-Fairchild picked up regional final wins. Updated: 06/02/2009 - Despite a strong upset bid by Baldwin-Woodville, the Altoona baseball team kept their perfect season alive and advanced to a WIAA Division 2 regional final with a 4-3 win Tuesday night. The Rails will take on Bloomer Wednesday night in the regional championship. In the Division 3 baseball playoffs, Eau Claire Regis saw its tournament run end with a 6-1 loss to Boyceville, while Division 4 No. 1 seed Eau Claire Immanuel also moved on to a regional final date with Greenwood after a 13-3 win over Granton. The No. 6 see Ramblers will meet No. 2 seed Boyceville on Tuesday. Also in Division 3, Colfax topped Chetek 23-1. In a Division 2 regional softball final, Altoona outlasted Black River Falls, 4-3, to earn a spot in the sectional round. Posted: 05/28/2009 - The Eau Claire North softball team is moving on in the WIAA Division 1 state playoffs after a 5-2 regional final win over Menomonie Thursday night. The Huskies will square off against Big Rivers Conference rival Chippewa Falls in the sectional semifinals, as the Cardinals beat Hudson, 4-0, in their regional final. Also in the Western Cloverbelt, Eau Claire Regis beat Thorp, 24-5, while Osseo-Fairchild earned a 2-1, eight-inning win over Fall Creek.
