Posted: 06/12/2013 - At the WIAA state baseball tournament at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute, the Osseo-Fairchild baseball team lost a heartbreaking 4-3 decision to Oconto in the Division 3 state semifinals. While in Division 4, Greenwood advances to the championship game with a 11-1 win over Wausaukee.
Updated: 06/11/2013 - The Osseo-Fairchild baseball team got off to an 0-4 start this season but turned things around winning 8 of their next 9 games. Updated: 06/08/2013 - An incredible day of drama in prep sports. In the Division two WIAA Softball championship, Baldwin-Woodville took a 1-0 lead into the 7th only to see New London score two runs to win the state title. In sectional girls soccer, Eau Claire Memorial survived overtime to defeat DC Everest 3-2 to advance to the state tournament. All this and Regis at State team tennis, the Express taking on the Madison Mallards and the Predators in rematch of the Elite Bowl with the St. Paul Pioneers. Updated: 06/07/2013 - Friday on SportScene 13 features action from the WIAA state softball tournament, as Shell Lake fell to Algoma 5-1. In state team tennis, Eau Claire Memorial fell to Marquette 7-0. Finally, on the shoulders of two grand slams, the Eau Claire Express defeated Green Bay 11-7 at Carson Park. Updated: 06/03/2013 - For the Eau Claire Memorial and Eau Claire North baseball teams, tomorrow is a huge day as both the Old Abes and huskies will have their sights set on a trip to next week's WIAA state tournament in Appleton. The possibility exists that if Memorial and North win their respective sectional semifinals, the two teams would play for the right to go to state.
Posted: 06/02/2013 - In Fizel’s three years as the Head Coach at Spooner High School, his teams have compiled a record of 19-11. In addition, the Rails have qualified for the WIAA Playoffs each of those three years. Prior to Fizel’s leadership, Spooner had not qualified for the WIAA postseason in consecutive years since 1998.
