DNR releases new ATV and UTV rules

(WEAU) - A series of new rules for ATV and UTV use will take effect July 1st.

In one of the biggest changes, rear license plates are now mandatory for all ATVs and UTVs. The DNR says the plates will help with identifying ATVs and UTVs if their stolen, or if they're involved in complaints or questions about trail use and operation.

Eau Claire Co just put a trail near my home last year what a joke they speed by my house rip up my yard and have no respect I am gonna start a petition to close the trail with the following neighborhood we live in the country for a reason so we can have piece and quiet. At least with plates we will be able to turn in the law breakers now.

The D.N.R.makes this law that we now need license plates on these atv/utvs. Lets go one step further and make it a law that these machines have turn signals and a horn that is operational while in use. Then these machines would be street legal. Lets see if they like this idea.

even with turn signals and a horn, these vehicles will not meet federal standards are road legal, but the state CAN grant then an exemption-
