NEWS RELEASE-The state-funded ATV trails and routes in Eau Claire County will reopen Tuesday, May 1. The ATV trails and routes are closed seasonally from March 15 to May 1 to protect the soft ground from erosion during the springtime. In addition, the Parks & Forest
Committee has opened the trails to UTVs for a trial period from May 1 to October 31, 2012. UTV’s had not been allowed on Eau Claire County ATV trails in previous years.

The ATV group I belong to (100 plus people) refuse to ride the Eau Claire trails this year, as to avoid spending any money on fuel, food, supplies and such in Eau Claire. Just our little way of protesting Eau Claire and their "Mini Madison" attitude. Instead, we will be spending our money in Washburn and Barron county.
