The chase for the Sprint Cup championship is halfway through and Brad Keselowski holds a seven-point lead over Jimmie Johnson as the drivers head for Kansas this weekend.
Clint Bowyer got himself back in the chase hunt with a victory at Charlotte last Saturday, the victory put Bowyer in 4th in the standings, 28 points back of Keselowski. This week will be a homecoming for Bowyer, who is from Kansas and would like nothing more to keep rolling with a victory at his home track.
Bowyer says, "Yeah, coming off of the win obviously rolling into your hometown is a lot of fun. A lot of confidence, a lot of momentum, everything that comes off of a win. But to be able to do it rolling into home, and Kansas is very special, a lot of testing over the next couple days, looking forward to getting there and seeing what we have for a race car and the new repave. My teammate Mark Martin was there, did the test for us, said our cars were really good. So just anticipating a good weekend."
