This week the drivers of the Sprint Cup head to the fastest track on the circuit, Talladega Super Speedway.
Last week Eau Claire native Paul Menard started 31st, but was able to work his way up to a quality 13th place finish at Richmond.
Despite not finishing in the top ten the past 5 races, Menard still sits in 14th place in the points standings as his team rolls into Talladega..
Last year Menard finished 12th in both the spring and fall races at the super speedway, and that gives him some confidence going into this weekends race.
"The car that we are bringing has been the best car in the wind tunnel so hopefully we qualify well, but at Talladega it's one of those tracks that doesn't matter where you qualify, as long as you are there at the end you have a hot to win. With the weather it is going to be really warm, so it's going to be just managing your engine temperature for the majority of the race"
