Racing Weekly for April 4th

For Eau Claire native Paul Menard last weekends race at Martinsville was a struggle.

Menard started 11th, but fell a lap down early on and late in the race would get caught speeding on pit road as he finished 26th.

Despite finishing outside the top 15 the last two races, menard sits 14th overall in the point standings and still has 20 races left to make the the chase for the the sprint cup...

This week on racing weekly...Menard talks about what he has to do when his car is not at it's best...

"Yeah, you're not going to run top 10 every week, you're not going top 5 every week, you'll have some off weeks and you'll take the best finish we can. The big thing in this whole points battle all year long is to minimize the DNF's. At Phoenix we had a really good car and I got into Allmendinger a little bit off turn four, we wound up finishing the race but we were like 6 laps down repairing some damage. We have to minimize those types of races when we do have a good car and races when we don't have a good car , get all that we can awhile still finishing"
