It's been a good start to the Sprint Cup season for Eau Claire native Paul Menard...Despite a 19th place finish at Fontana last week...Menard has 3 top 10 is in the first 5 races , and sits in the 11th place in the points standings..
This week on racing weekly we look ahead to the bull ring at Martinsville Speedway....a track that is the shortest on the circuit ...Tempers will be tested as well brake pads...
For Paul Menard, the track is a throwback that reminds him of the tracks he raced around Wisconsin when he was starting out..
"It's a blast to drive around there, we have 850 horsepower. a little half mile track with no banking, it's like going to a Marshfield or La Crosse speedway with a ton of horsepower. You can try to hook it up, turn in the corners without sacrificing your turn in the center. It is a throwback to the roots that a lot of us have done with short track racing. Looking forward to it."
