Regis Ramblers Knocked Out Of State Tourney Save Email Print

After leading by as many as fifteen points late in the third quarter, the Eau Claire Regis Boys Basketball team couldn't hold off a rally by the Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds, losing in the Division Three State Semifinals 53-50.

Sophomore Jack Eaton led the Ramblers with 19 points, including a three-point basket that put Regis on top 47-32 with 1:14 remaining in the third quarter.

But Mike Griffin led a 21-8 Thunderbirds run over the final nine minutes. Griffin scored a game-high 21 points in the game, including 11 of 13 free throw attempts.

The Ramblers season ends with a record of 21-4 while Iola-Scandinavia improves to 24-2 and will face La Crosse Aquinas for the Division Three Championship Saturday at 6:35 p.m.
