Baseball fans at Carson Park Tuesday evening got a chance to catch a glimpse of a familiar face in the dugout for the La Crosse Loggers. Former Brewers outfielder Greg Vaughn is a special consultant to the team and proud parent of one of the Loggers players.
Vaughn spent 15 years in the big leagues, including seven with the Brewers, hitting 355 career home runs. This summer he is giving back to the game, helping out the Loggers. His son, Cory, leads La Crosse with five homers so far this year.
Vaughn says it's fun for him traveling with these kids who have aspirations of playing in the "bigs" some day. Greg adding that Wisconsin will always be a special place for him, especially coming to Eau Claire where the likes of Hank Aaron, Joe Torre, and Bob Uecker all began their baseball careers.
You can catch the entire interview with Greg Vaughn this Sunday on Sportscene Sunday at 10:30 pm.
