Duane began his career at WEAU in 2005 working in the production department, before transferring to the news department a month later to work as a photographer. His general responsibilities include shooting stories for various reporters, LIVE truck operation, and you may even catch him on the sidelines of a sporting event getting highlights for sports.
Duane graduated from Osceola High School, before attending Brown College in the Twin Cities. In 2001, he moved to the Los Angeles area where he, through the help of his uncle’s production company, got the opportunity to work on film sets as a production assistant, lighting assistant, and camera operator. Duane also worked for the church he attended in California, running one of the three cameras used, and editing the service down to a 28 minute, 30 second production.
When not cruising around Western Wisconsin in a WEAU-13 News Kia, Duane enjoys spending time with friends and family, long road trips, camping in the summer, and snowmobiling in the winter. He also dreams of one day going on a storm chase in the southern plains, with a camera in hand, of course.
