David was born and raised in Wisconsin by his parents, Greg and Leslie Nigh. After graduating from high school, he attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Media Arts Studies.

While in Utah David met his wife, Lisa. Shortly after they were married, they moved back to Wisconsin and began directing at WEAU.

David operates audio, graphics and cameras when he is not directing WEAU's morning newscasts.
