Justus is excited to be a part of the WEAU news team, which he joined in August of 2010.
Justus was born in North Dakota and moved to Green Bay when he was ten. This gives him the unique quality of being a Vikings fan at one time and a Packers fan. He is a graduate of Green Bay Southwest High School (which is the same school that ESPN’s John Anderson also attended.)
Justus' television career began in college at UW-Stevens Point, where he was the sports director at the student television station. While there he called play-by-play for hockey, basketball, football, baseball and soccer. If there was a sport being played, Justus would try to cover it.
His experience in college helped him land a job as a sports photographer at WLUK in Green Bay. He worked there for two years before moving in up north and in front of the camera as a Sports Anchor/Reporter at WLUC in Marquette, MI. While in the U.P., Justus covered everything from division one hockey to ski jumping.
After leaving Marquette, Justus returned to his hometown of Green Bay, where he worked as a Sports Reporter/Anchor at WGBA. In his career, he has covered several seasons of Packers football and events such as the PGA Championship, Brewers baseball and NCAA sports. He also enjoys the fun that shooting prep sports brings, and looks forward to meeting the great fans at all the schools that WEAU covers.
When not covering sports, you can usually find Justus out on the golf course, though for as much time he spends hacking up fairways, you would think he’d be a much better golfer.
Justus is married to his beautiful wife Kara, and they both look forward to getting to know their new friends and neighbors in Eau Claire. If you have any story ideas or suggestions, feel free to e-mail him at email@example.com
