Andrew McCawley

Andrew joined the WEAU 13 News team in September 2010.

Andrew is from Omaha, NE. He loves being from the Midwest because we get to experience every type of weather. From thunderstorms to snow, we get to see it all. That’s why he fell in love with weather at a young age. The weather’s always changing, and that’s what makes his job as a Meteorologist so much fun.

Growing up Andrew played as many sports as possible. Hockey, soccer and football kept him busy in both grade school and high school. He was the kicker at Valparaiso University, and graduated from there with a degree in Meteorology, with Minors in Communication and Math. After that he spent 2 years as a Meteorologist/Reporter at station in Sioux City, IA. It was another year at a station in Omaha before he came to Eau Claire.

Andrew has achieved distinction as a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist from the American Meteorological Society. He also has the Television Weathercaster Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association.

When Andrew’s not working, you’ll find him outdoors, working out, traveling and playing any number of sports.
