(WEAU) - It was the corner of Eddy Lane and Western Avenue, 68 year old Yvonne Tomlinson made her usual walk from her part-time job at Hardees. Yet took a serious fall at the entrance of a tunnel under Hastings Way.

“ I had opened up the door because I had thought I was seeing what I did see and she was screaming for help and I got out of the truck and I ran down to help her,” said Dena Avery, Good Samaritan #1.

Dena Avery and Dan Whitwam were just going to the nearby ATM when they heard a woman screaming and ran down to her aid. They found Yvonne lying facedown on ice.

“I just talked to her, gave her my coat to keep her legs warm cause she was laying on the ice. Just kept her talking told her to stay awake,” said Dan Whitwam, Good Samaritan #2

A day after the accident, Yvonne wanted to find her heroes while at Sacred Heart Hospital.

"Sarah stokes had put it on the WEAU website and within an hour and a half there was over 100 people that had liked it and within another 45 minutes I got a message that it was somebody’s daughter," said Yvonne’s daughter, Jeannie Westphal.

While Yvonne's injuries include a concussion, whiplash and brain bleeding, Jeannie Westphal knows how much this means to her mother to have found the couple.

“She was very excited and very grateful. If you could have saw her laying there at night she kept saying she had to find them and thank them,” said Westphal.

The couple finally re-united with Yvonne to bring her flowers.

“I can't even put it into words how thankful we are. She means so much,” said Westphal.
