A former police officer who tried to kill his wife by crashing his truck into a bridge will spend three years in prison.

46-year-old Chueng Lee of Weston will spend three years in prison, and an additional two years on extended supervision.

A criminal complaint says Lee forced his wife, Chao Lee, into his pickup, and then crashed it into a Shawano County bridge last September.

He pleaded no contest in May.

Lee had 15 years on the Wausau Police Force when he was arrested.

The felony conviction prevents him from being a police officer again.
