Linux is a free, open source operating system. It’s based on a Unix system. There’re a variety of Linux distributions for the operating system. Each distribution provides a different graphical interfaces and options. Although the graphics look different each distribution uses the same Linux Kernel base for there program which keeps everything compatible. People use Linux over Widows and Mac operating systems because of security, and freedom. The Linux operating system is generally more stable and customizable. Advanced users can actually reprogram the Linux distributions and customize it to there need.
