2nd Annual Harvesting Hope Halloween Gala - an adults only (21+) event. Join us for a frightful night of fun! Tickets are $35 for dinner, dance, and 2 drink tickets, or $10 for dance only. Social hour starts at 5pm, with dinner at 6pm. Dance (with DJ) starts at 7pm, with a costume contest at 10pm, and gun raffle drawing at 10:15pm. The evening wraps up at Midnight. Haunted Hustle 5K

Group Health Cooperative will once again sponsor the annual Haunted Hustle – a Halloween-themed 5K. At the Cooperative, we believe in giving back! This year, proceeds from the event will benefit:

Girls on the Run
The Chippewa Valley Council, Boy Scouts of America
Bolton Refuge House
Sojourner House
The Miracle League of the Chippewa Valley
Southview Elementary School Playground

Each of the organizations will benefit, but Haunted Hustle participants will chose who gets the biggest donation! If you register for the race, you will receive a token to cast your vote on the day of the event. Additional votes can be purchased to help your favorite charity take home the biggest check.

First Place – 50% of proceeds
Second Place – 30% of proceeds
Third Place – 20% of proceeds

The remaining charities will receive $500 each.

Get in the spirit and dress up in your Halloween finest! Stick around after the Spooky Sprint and the 5K Walk/Run for a Silent Auction, Vendor Booths, Kids Games, and more. This will be a great event for the whole family!

Chippewa Valley Book Festival

The Chippewa Valley Book Festival is sponsored by the Literary Arts Committee of the Eau Claire Regional Arts Council. Volunteer committee members come from area communities, the Eau Claire Area School District, Indianhead Federated Library System, L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library, and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

The festival celebrates the written word through author readings and book signings, school visits, meals with authors, and includes workshops and programs for writers of all ages. The 2017 festival will feature more than twenty authors at area libraries, schools and other community locations. The festival begins October 18 with workshops, and features programs daily through October 26, with evening programs at five area public libraries.
